  • International Baccalaureate School
    • The museum is partnering with both International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in the Durango area—Florida Mesa Elementary and Needham Elementary. The IB philosophy is well matched with the informal science education provided by the museum. Connecting the IB's and museum's programming will improve hands-on inquiry-based lessons designed to enhance 21st century skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, perseverance, and ingenuity.
  • Mountain Middle School
    • The museum and Mountain Middle School have a keen interest in advancing educational innovation in teaching and learning, nourishing the natural curiosity of learners of all ages, and providing opportunities for hands-on, project based interactive education. To achieve these ends, they work together on programs that drive science learning and explorations into science, technology, engineering, and math.
  • Mountain Studies Institute
    •  MSI's mission is to enhance understanding and sustainable use of the San Juan Mountains through research and education. The museum and Institute work together to support, provide, and enrich STEM educational offerings in the Four Corners region, particularly in the areas of climate, energy, and the environment.

  • Southwestern Area Health Education Center
    • The Southwestern Area Health Education Center (AHEC) works to improve the quality and accessibility of education for health care in the state of Colorado. The missions of the Southwestern AHEC and the museum are well aligned; we have teamed up to offer a "Body Shop"-themed Camp Discovery—a week-long, interactive science camp with a physiology focus.
