Pub Science: First Fridays
Citizen scientists, beer lovers, curious minds, and party hoppers, you asked for it. Pub Science | First Fridays is an adults only event for everyone (21 years and older) who needs a couple of well-earned hours of fun and doesn't mind occasional explosives or juicy conversation starters with their happy hour.
Pub Science happens the first Friday of every month, from 5:30-7:30pm. You can always expect an interesting presentation, beer from SKA Brewing, snacks from 1887 Catering, and a casual, creative scene with a science-y twist. Cost is $7/person, $5 for museum members; no RSVP or tickets required.

"DNA: The Library of Life"
Dr. Frank Masiarz will present part II of our genetics training with an even closer look at DNA and maybe even a discussion of chirality and biohacking. Frank holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Michigan and post-doctoral fellowship at UC San Francisco. Frank helped create the first vaccine for hepatitis B while working for Chiron Corporation founder William Rutter. He also worked with Nobel-laureate Stanley Prusiner to identify the prion protein, which causes deadly neurological diseases.
