Our spring benefit event happens Saturday, April 14, 2012 6-9ish pm at the Powerhouse.
Get ready for the biggest party since the Powerhouse opened in 1892 and tore open the space-time continuum to reveal 2092. That's right, a Steampunk extravaganza featuring retro-futurist dress-up and other arcana. Expect: Victorian hats, hearty edibles suitable for time travelers, gamma-protective googles, laughing-gas rayguns, a guy in a Fez, truth serum influence contraptions, and that signature standby to make it all ok—the Tesla Tonic.
Recommended attendance sequence:

Why all these benefit events?
The museum is committed to being inclusive and accessible to all—we do not turn anyone away from any of our programs or facilities for lack of funds. While local, state, and federal funding helped us open, the museum is not subsidized by government funding. Instead, we rely on community support to continue offering innovative science programs and quality exhibits. You helped us open; now help us stay open! Plus, we all really need another reason to dress up and get our geek on. Would you or your organization like to be a benefit sponsor? That would certainly redound to your exceptionalism.
